Krytix is an ongoing 3d fast-paced shooter/platformer with movement inspired from TitanFall2, physics-based interaction with environment and... still under development. This game is far from being a first version, it is still a prototype with only one scene for parkouring around and having some fun with the movement!


Controls:

W-A-S-D for movement

Shift for sprinting

Space for jump/double jump

Alt for sliding (it can get wacky if you spam it)

Left click to shoot the pistol

R to play around with the health bar (you can't die yet)

E to grab physics based objects (still under development)

Escape for main menu


The prototype version is going to get updated until Krytix begins to be a playable game and not only a simple prototype scene. The final game is going to be released on Steam.


1.1 update:

  • fixed movement jitteriness
  • better jump mechanic
  • way better air control system
  • modified some maps (new map too!)
  • added main menu, level selection and quit function


NOTE: the sandbox map is very buggy (you can't jump, the spawner buttons work very poorly, etc.) because it is more of a testing map for dev, and I decided to add it to the game.


1.2 update:

  • added a ragdoll character for testing in the sandbox
  • modified yet again the jump mechanic to a more realistic one, the old felt like jumping on the moon.
  • fixed the main menu, now you can quit from any level by pressing escape
    BUGS: you can't jump in the sandbox level, spawn buttons don't work well, the grab function on cubes doesn't work well either

1.3 update:

  • working on the graphic style of the game, added a few props to make it look better (looking for feedback!)
  • modified entirely the Player Camera for a way more natural feel and overall better gameplay 
  • evolved the sliding to a very clean sliding movement (I think of adding an option to remove the sliding inclination)

NOTE: This update was focused on the player movement mechanics, and I didn't had time this week to fix the bugs shown in 1.2 update, so the "Sandbox" level is extremely bugged and has lots of issues: Can't move player camera around, can't jump, can't grab things but all of these will be my challenge for next week's update!

1.3.2:

  • the player can now slide on the sides and the sliding power is proportional to velocity (kind of)
  • added a testing weapon just to make things a bit more interesting (the style of other weapons will look like this)
  • sliding in air is now a thing (woops)
  • added instructions so now you can actually know controls
  • fixed the collision system of the bullets to continuous type of detection (the bullets now actually collide)
  • fixed partially the "Sandbox" level, now it is actually playable

BUGS: The weapon is not present in the "Sandbox" level, features showcased in "Bugs 1.2 version" are still not fixed

1.4 update will fix all of those!

1.4.0:

Hey guys! I am taking some time to write personally about my game's progress, everything is going well, I am having fun working on it and learning everyday about it! Unfortunately, school is preventing me to work on it very efficiently so expect next updates to come out later, but 2.0.0 will come on due!  

  • The sliding is yet modified for a smooth ease-in feel rather than an impulsion
  • Added ragdolls and Ai to the "Parkour" level!
  • Started working with Inverse kinematics but still in progress
  • Major graphic style update (switched to HDRP)
  • Better impact effect of bullets
  • Added option tab to the menu (not functional yet)

 BUGS: here is a recap of all bugs that are still present in the game

  1. The pickup system is still not working (I am not working on it because it's not the priority)
  2. The sandbox level is very buggy and uninteresting, I more use it as a test map for dev
  3. The buttons aren't working either

1.5.0:

Game status: The game is advancing very well and has more and more features in it, so I am officially announcing the beginning on the work for the official prologue which I will be working on for the next update!
Anyways, here are the added features.

  • Wall running! (Pretty wack but works, going to work on it for the next version)
  • Added animation-rigging for my enemy robot called "Ver-3", now the enemy fixes the player and somewhat points his arm towards you (still work in progress)
  • Modified the movement, important point for my game, I am still hesitating if it's going to be a "super-crazy-fast" paced game or more a "just-fast" paced game

 what to expect on 1.6.0:

  1. wall run completely functional and well implemented
  2. a beginning of a story
  3. animations! 

1.6.0 coming really fast!



2.0 update is expected to be due on Halloween with proper maps, actual gameplay, story, UI, (actual UI, not prototype) good textures for walls etc. And proper models like weapon, particles and elements of decor.


Krytix is a game taking place in a futuristic combat simulator where you wake up from unconsciousness with no clue about the origin of your situation, run 'n gun your way out of the levels and discover the purpose of your ultimate quest.
